With Admiral, the Thomas Kydd Series is complete as promised, one man’s journey from pressed man to admiral in the Great Age of Fighting Sail. Over the course of 27 books it has been my great pleasure to sail the seven seas in my writer’s imagination – to marvel at just what those ‘iron men in wooden ships’ achieved, and quite often to wish I lived in those colourful times! It is, of course, a poignant moment in my writing career. However, after a short break I’ll be embarking upon a new series, also set in this period.
