A Brief History

The aircraft carrier

The USS John F Kennedy was the last conventionally-powered aircraft carrier built by the US Navy. Over 1000 feet long, she had a ship crew of 3,117 and 2,480 in the air wing, and was decommissioned in 2007. This aerial photo of her berthing in the harbour at Malta dramatically demonstrates the size of modern warships
